Coburg Clinical Psychology

We are a team of highly trained Clinical Psychologists and Clinical Psychology Registrars who work with adults who present with a range of mental health conditions. We provide evidence-based treatments in a warm and caring environment. All of our staff have completed between 6-8 years of university training in psychology. A unique aspect of our clinic is that we only employ staff who have completed their university training in Clinical Psychology, this way, we can ensure that our clients are receiving the highest level of care possible.

As practitioners of mental health care, we welcome and respect all people. We strive to provide sensitive and inclusive care for all genders, ethnicities and sexual orientations.

What is a Clinical Psychologist?

From the Australian Clinical Psychology Association: "Training in clinical psychology is at minimum an 8-year requirement. Students firstly undertake a 4-year Honours degree in psychology covering the scientific foundations of psychology. Students then progress to a 2-3 year accredited post-graduate degree, focussed on the assessment, treatment, and prevention of mental disorders. This study is then followed by a 1-2 year registrar program overseen by the Psychology Board of Australia. We know of no other health professional who undertakes this length and level of accredited training in psychological practice in mental health."

Our Clinic

A strength of our clinic, and something we're passionate about, is tailoring treatment. We aren't limited by focussing on just one treatment style. Our Clinical Psychologists and Registrars offer a range of therapies including CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, EMDR, and Motivational Interviewing. Please refer to the Treatment Styles page for a brief explanation of each of these evidence-based modalities.

We were founded in 2005 and have been practising in the northern suburbs of Melbourne for over 15 years. Our team has grown slowly and steadily over the years, with each Psychologist bringing their own expertise and interest areas. Our practice is situated in the heart of Coburg with easy parking and public transport access.

Our clinic sits upon the land that was traditionally owned by the Wurundjeri Willum people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to the Wurundjeri Willum people and their elders.
